SAT Results
Each spring, our Year 2 pupils take the Statutory Assessment Tests at the end of Key Stage 1 in the core subjects of literacy, mathematics and science. Literacy is broken down into ’speaking and listening’, ‘reading’ and ‘writing’. In all subjects, our pupils consistently achieve significantly above the national average.
The table below shows the latest available results, comparing the 2008 Herne Hill School results (HHS) with the 2008 Combined National results (Ntl). For all subjects, the data should be read as percentage of pupils attaining ‘level 1 or below’, ‘level 2′ (broken down into 2C, 2B and 2A for reading, writing and mathematics) and ‘level 3 or above’. The higher the level the better; by the age of seven, most children are expected to achieve level 2. For example, in speaking and listening, 72% of Herne Hill School pupils attained the top level 3 or above whereas nationwide only 22% attained the same level; all remaining Herne Hill School pupils attained level 2 and none attained level 1 or below.
